“My life revolves around art,” says the owner of The Gallery in downtown Beaufort. Art also tends to revolve around her: Most days Deanna can be found rotating pieces, hanging pictures or just hanging out in her airy show space, a place full of color and texture where visitors are encouraged to touch and play. She’s hiding behind one of her own paintings.

3 things you don’t know about me:

I was debutante in Cleveland, OH. It was my mother’s idea—my parents were members of the Cotillion Society.

I was competitive swimmer for 14 years and held the state record for shot put. I also have national titles in sailing.
When I was six, I wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer, a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader, a Vegas showgirl and a veterinarian.
